Nicole Ari Parker, an American actor who has appeared on film and on television, and on stage is best known for her role as Teri Joseph, a flamboyant attorney in the show on Showtime called Soul Food. The actress is known under her husband's name, Nikki Kodjoe. Born and raised in Baltimore Maryland. As an infant, she showed an aptitude for acting and received the Top Actress Award in the Maryland High School Contest. Her acting diploma was earned at New York University after working at 'The Washington Ballet Company' as well as in theatre. The first role she played in The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love brought an immense amount of admiration. Films like Blue Streak and Boogie Nights Spark were followed by Boogie Nights Spark. The film was highly praised for her performance on Soul Food. Her appearances also appeared in TV shows such as Second Time Around" and Empire. Early in her career she performed in several stage plays. Parker who has a keen passion for politics and is married to model/actress Boris Kodjoe. The couple have two daughters.
Contractor Born from Mumbai in India, was raised in Nigeria from the time she was seven. She was already exposed to many different travels and cultures from a early age. When she was seven until nine, Contractor went to boarding school in London. Her family then relocated to Toronto where she lived throughout her early years. Contractor achieved academic success in Toronto in addition to her training as a ballerina. She attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts which was a highly specialized high school where she was able to study more than just dance but also theater. Contractor began acting at age 16 and was a part of the theater for a decade after spending ten years in dance. When she graduated from high school, Contractor was awarded a scholarship by the University of Toronto to pursue a dual major in sociology and psychology. She also earned an advanced degree in theatre. Following a semester at the University, Contractor went to an audition on a call-to-action basis for the production Pericles at the world-class and renowned Stratford Shakespeare Festival [Ontario, Canada and got the leading role. Her performance was lauded for the 92 shows she appeared in. She was awarded the 2002 award for the best production of the Year from Canadian critics. The opportunity was presented to her to be a part of the Stratford Conservatory. The school allows only eight males and four women to study traditional theatre. Contractor eagerly accepted. Contractor's place in the following production was secured, and she won the role of Hermia.
